Pages, databases and sites that keep working.

Everything below works today, and all of it is free while Collom is in early access.

Write

A page is made of blocks

Start typing and you have a page. Press / for everything else, or use the Markdown shortcuts your fingers already know.

Blocks for the job
Headings, lists, to-dos, toggles, quotes, callouts, columns, code, diagrams and equations.
Markdown shortcuts
Type # for a heading, [] for a to-do or ``` for code.
Drag anything
Pick a block up by its handle and drop it anywhere, into a column too.
Synced blocks
Keep one block in several pages. Edit it once and it changes everywhere.
Files, bookmarks and embeds
Drop in images and files, or paste a link to get a preview.
Make it yours
Give a page an icon, a cover and a serif, sans or mono typeface.

Databases

Spreadsheet formulas, ten ways to look at the rows

Databases use the formulas you already know, like SUM, IF and ROUND. Ten views sit over the same rows.

Ten views
Table, Board, List, Gallery, Calendar, Timeline, Chart, Feed, Map, Form. Each with its own filters, sorts and groups.
Formulas you already know
Excel-style syntax, so nobody has to learn a new language.
Relations and rollups
Link rows across databases and total up what is linked.
Sub-items and dependencies
Break work down and mark what blocks what.
Templates and linked views
Start rows from a template, lock a database, or show it on another page.
Automations
When a row is added or changed, or on a schedule: set a property, add a row, send an email or call a webhook.

Together

See each other work

Watch who is on a page and where they are typing. Comment on a word or a block and close the thread when it is done.

Live carets
Everyone on the page shows up with a name and a caret, as they type.
Comments and discussions
Comment on a word, a block or a whole page. Resolve threads when settled.
Mentions and backlinks
Mention a person or a page. Each page lists the pages that link to it.
Activity and email
Replies, mentions and invitations land in Activity, and in your email if you want.
Page history
Look back through earlier versions of a page and restore one.
Your own undo
Undo takes back your edits only, never the ones a teammate just made.

Publish

Turn pages into a website or a form

Publish a page and its subpages as a site with its own address, or collect answers from anyone with a public form.

A site in one click
Pick a name and your pages are live at name.collom.app, with a menu and breadcrumbs.
Your own domain
Point a domain you own at your site. HTTPS is set up for you.
Ready for search engines
Titles, descriptions, link previews and a sitemap, or a switch to stay unlisted.
Page analytics
Views and readers for each page, with no cookies and no third-party trackers.
Public forms
Share a form with anyone. Answers become rows, and bots are kept out.

Share

Private until you say so

Spaces, guests and public links, with access set down to a single page. Search only ever shows what you can open.

Spaces
Group pages by team or topic, open to the workspace or kept to a few people.
Five levels of access
Manager, Editor, Contributor, Commenter, Reader. Set them on a space or on one page.
Guests
Invite someone outside your workspace to just the pages they need.
Public links
Share a page with the web, and take it back whenever you like.
Audit log
See who changed members, sharing, sites and tokens. Filter it or download it.

Offline

Your work does not stop when the connection does

Pages open at once and keep working on a plane, in a tunnel or when the server is down. Your changes sync when you are back.

Opens at once
Pages load from your device, not from a server far away.
Works with no connection
Write, move blocks and edit databases offline, in every tab you have open.
Merges on its own
When you are back, changes merge letter by letter, even if two people edited the same paragraph.
Nothing lost on a bad network
Edits wait in a queue on your device until the server has them.

Connect

No lock-in

Bring your pages in, take them out, and wire Collom to the rest of your tools with an API and signed webhooks.

REST API
Read and write pages and rows with a token that can only do what you can.
Signed webhooks
Get told when a page changes. Every delivery is signed so you can trust it.
OAuth apps
Let other tools connect to a workspace with the access a member approves.
Import
Markdown, HTML, CSV and Google Docs.
Export
Markdown, HTML, CSV and PDF, for a page or a whole tree.

Try it with your own pages.

Free while Collom is in early access.
